DJmag

For our first cover/ issue. We wanted to focus on an individual artist, rather than the music genre as a general. We gained inspiration from such magazines as, DJ magazine, which use artist photos as cover shots to entice the consumer. Mixmag

http://www.mixmag.net/ is a Dance/ Club music magazine that we took inspiration from. We looked at what type of colours they used and how they laid the structure of the magazines out. We discovered that this genre of magazine stylizes like Club posters, by using loud and extravagant fonts and fluorescent colour. Here's an expample of a Mixmag magazine cover:
